Every woman can benefit from our services even if she needs to deliver in a hospital because she is high risk. Our high quality, evidence based in home visiting prenatal education program can assist any woman in preventing complications such as preterm birth, preeclampsia and unnecessary cesarean sections which, often times, lead to other complications.
The Co Management Program includes:
- Seven to ten (7-10) prenatal visits attended by:
- NPR/CPR/BLS/AMCB certified nurse midwives OR
- NCC Certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner OR
- AANP Certified Family Nurse Practitioner
- Access to the provider 24 hours per day 7 days per week**
- NPR/CPR/BLS/DONA certified doulas and birth assistants
- High quality, evidence based, patient centered care plans with a focus on client autonomy, informed consent and promoting normal physiologic birth
- Includes all routine prenatal testing and screenings as well as
- Cervical Cancer Screenings
- Other lab work, as appropriate
- Mental Health and other related screenings
- Referrals to appropriate medical specialists as needed to manage acute or chronic health issues or pregnancy conditions
- Referrals to functional medicine practitioners, nutritionists, physical therapists and other healthcare providers to support holistic wellbeing
- A personalized birth plan to meet your preferences
- Childbirth Education Class
- Post dates testing if needed
- 3-5 Postpartum visits
- 3-4 Newborn Visits
- Lactation support and assistance by IBLC providers
- Comprehensive prenatal and postpartum education and counseling with a focus on:
- Pregnancy Physiology: Understanding the changes your body goes through during pregnancy
- Healthy Pregnancy and Postpartum: Early prevention and detection of health issues
- Fetal Development: Learning about the growth and development of your baby
- Nutrition and Diet: Understanding proper nutrition for a healthy pregnancy and baby including the importance of certain vitamins and recommendations for supplements as appropriate
- Exercise and Fitness: Safe prenatal exercises to maintain or improve fitness, prevent complications and promote vaginal birth.
- Emotional Well-Being and Stress Management: Support and resources for coping with emotional changes during pregnancy as well as techniques for managing stress and anxiety.
- Planning for a normal physiologic birth: Understanding the process of labor and birth, coping with labor, positions for birth and more!
- Community Resources: Connecting you with local support and resources.
- Questions and Concerns: Addressing any questions or concerns you may have!
